Letters to Abigail, Hendersonville's "home town band", is an acoustic three piece modern day string band including songwriter, acoustic guitarist and vocalist, James Harrell, vocalist and songwriter, Kelli Redmond, Lauren Bandy on upright bass and back up vocals (Country Music Hall of Fame act, Tom T Hall and the Storytellers) (Nashville's most famous rock act, the Joe Savage Show). Some folks describe their music as a simple southern pleasure. With their classic approach to a new original sound, drenched in powerful lyrics, acoustic melodies and soulful harmonies Letters to Abigail draws their listeners into a world of emotion and memory. Their songs take you down a road to times gone by, loves won and lost, and the uncomplicated gratification of food. Translating their personal relationships into lyrical moments, their music transcends to a more personal level, bringing to light the highs and lows, echoing the basic needs of all of us as we make our way through life. Surrounded by the rich music of the region, they find themselves welcomed and embraced as a musical presence in Western North Carolina.
Opening band - Sarah Tucker
We started in 2005 as just a small group of friends making records on our laptops after school and on weekends. We never really expected to grow into the internationally recognized record label that we are today, touting a total of 7 gold records under our belt, but then again, neither did anyone else. In 2008, we rented out an old auto garage on the south side of Baltimore, and started taking ourselves a little more seriously. Within a year, we had booked a tour in Europe. The very next year, The Gears, one of our first signed artists went gold with their recording of "The Greasy Wheel." Since then, our little chop shop recording studio has become an icon of the independant music industry, with over 45 active recording artists in our portfolio
