Please join us for a fresh brew and celebrate the love of beer and mountains on Friday, October 18th for the Thunderstruck Coffee Porter release party! Like our other seasonals, Thunderstruck is named for a feature of the Southern Appalachian landscape. Along with each release party, Highland Brewing teams up with Southern Appalachian Highlands Conservancy and US Fish & Wildlife on a guided hike in the area each seasonal was named after. Stop by Friday night to find out more information on how you can help protect the world's oldest mountains while enjoying a Thunderstruck and listening to great music in the tasting room. Proceeds from the beer sales of the evening will be going towards protecting the beautiful mountains around us.

Born in what is currently present day costal North Carolina, Virginia Dare is said, in legend, to have wholeheartedly embraced the primitive culture of the Croatoan people after being abducted by them in 1590 along with the rest the settlers of what is known today as “The Lost Colony.
