The River Rats formed in Asheville around early 2011 as a street busking project. Jumpstarted from several songs written by local singer/songwriter Andrew Scotchie, The River Rats have evolved from a stripped down guitar and harmonica duo between Scotchie and other local player Andrew Adams to a full on rock/soul and blues outfit. The band is: Andrew Scotchie on guitar/vocals, Jordan Miller on bass/vocals, Eliza Hill on drums, Andrew Adams on harmonica/saxophone, Kyle Snuffer on Trombone and Alex Bradley on trumpet. Sarah is a singer and songwriter with great talent in many genres including rock, jazz, and old time – the music of her mountain home. Her love of literature, poetry and theatre enables her to write songs with great depth and passion. She won the Asheville Music Hall's Brown Bag Singer Songwriter Competition in December of 2011 and has released her first CD, The Windowsill Girl (March 2013). She was featured in the film documentary “Over Home: Love Songs of Madison County”, as the next generation ballad songwriter and performer.
Dave Dribbon (formerly of Ten Hollow) has put together a new band in Asheville, NC. The Stomping Rain consists of: James Beale on Lead Guitar, Pete Van Rijssen on Bass and Kent Spillmann (formally of Ten Hollow) on Drums.
