Tim Marsh grew up outside Trenton, NJ where he began playing guitar and singing around the age of 14. With interests in acoustic and electric music Marsh began writing music almost before he learned how to play guitar. Tim performed original music in varying line-ups through high school and into college. Transferring to Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina in 1997, Marsh continued writing and devoted himself to his extracurricular musical studies. Inspired to understand music in general on a theoretical level, Marsh has since furthered himself by playing across genres with bluegrass, psychedelic rock, traditional jazz, fusion, reggae, and new orleans style funk bands. Tim Marsh currently performs under his own name as well as with reggae band 'Chalwa', New Orleans style funk band 'The Asheville Horns', and bluegrass band 'Wiseapple'. Tim Marsh has shared the bill with the likes of Sam Bush, Doc Watson, Del McCoury, The Avett Brothers, Future Man, Midnite, Bambu Station and Groundation.
