The creation of innovative and original music is an ever
elusive goal in this day and age. The Virginia Dare Devils’ primary mission
to do just that is most certainly well under way. From its humble beginnings three years ago in the acoustic music hotbed of Asheville, NC, this group of seasoned acoustic music veterans has come together to create an organic musical tradition rooted in traditional melody and tone, layered with improvisational solos and textured rhythms reminiscent of 40’s Bluegrass and 80’s Newgrass. With a tip of the hat to Swing, Old Time, 60’s Psychedelic Rock, the result is a musical garment with individual style and utilitarian purpose. Members include Bobby Miller (Mandolin, Lead Vocals), Griff Martin (Guitar, Vocals), Jason Flournoy (Banjo), Rick Cooper (Upright Bass), and Tim Gardner (Fiddle).
