It's "Cold Mountain Winter Ale" Time again!

THIS year is the best year for Cold Mountain!  For those of you arguing about which year was the best year for Cold Mountain, keep in mind that there is no time like the present!  Another great Cold Mountain Blend is now ready for your salivating palettes...

Ready to Roll: "Black Mountain Bitter - an Organic Pale Ale"

Check out Highland's Second Organic Brew!

Following January's successful debut of our first organic beer--Black Mountain Bitter--Highland recently released its second organic brew--Organic Cattail Peak Wheat Beer.   An organic version of last summer's release, this style is an invigorating wheat beer with 100% organic grains, a hint of rye, and the tang and hue of organic hibiscus.

We recently received our organic certification from Clemson University after undergoing a rigid inspection and two-month compliance process.  Although this represents a big step for Highland, the idea of an all organic product is consistent with our corporate ethos and embrace of natural traditional brewing methods.

Organic Cattail Peak Wheat Beer is the latest in our line of seasonals named after mountain peaks in Transylvania County in Western North Carolina.  In the spring of 2008, we released our first seasonal beer--Shining Rock Lager, followed by Cattail Peak Wheat in the summer,  Clawhammer Oktoberfest in the fall, our ever-popular Cold Mountain Winter Ale in November, and organic Black Mountain Bitter Pale Ale in January.

The Latest in the Imperial Series

I n 2006, we began a tradition of releasing an imperial version of one of our brews each September at Asheville's Brewgrass Festival.   First was Imperial Gaelic followed by Imperial Kashmir IPA.  Last year's offering was Imperial Black Mocha Stout,  rich with coffee and chocolate notes.   If you missed the sale held at the brewery, you can still stop by and purchase some.  The cost is $10 per 22 oz. bottle (cash or check only).  Click on the contact/tours tab on the left for directions to the brewery.
